Portrait of unidentified Lady wearing orange neoclassical dress and pearl hair lace imposingly sited on a big chair and leaning on the basement of the column (with a highland landscape in background). Signed lower right - J. Oil painting on parqueted panel 57,8 x 43 cm (roughly 23 x 17 in). Enclosed in to modern/vintage frame which is 71,3 x 56,8 cm (roughly 28 x 22,4 in). Painting was intensively restored some 20-40 years ago. Satisfactory condition, wear, numerous restorations, retouches, cracks, losses. Please study good resolution images for overall condition. Joseph Karl Stieler (1781 - 1858) who was a German painter. From 1820 until 1855 he worked as royal court painter of the Bavarian kings.

He is known for his Neoclassical portraits, especially for the Gallery of Beauties at Nymphenburg Palace in Munich. A number of countries have partially closed their borders to passenger traffic, which means that a large portion of the air traffic has been stopped. This is giving rise to restrictions in transport capacity, and thus problems transporting parcels and letters to large parts of the world.
